Murdersville town appears in The Dirty Dozen

Yesterday I watched The Dirty Dozen for the very first time. There was a scene during the war games segment, shot in a small English town. It looked very familiar, and I realized it must be the village from this episode. Sure enough, when I checked my Avengers DVDs it was not only the same town but almost exactly the same shot. Coincidentally, the two productions were done at almost the same time.

In that scene where Lee Marvin and his fellow actors are shown driving in US Army vehicles around that small lake in the British village, I almost expected to see the lovely Diana Rigg, still tied to that "dunking" board on the water's edge.

By the way, in a dvd extra that comes with "The Dirty Dozen," the name of that small British village is mentioned. (I don't recall the name of the village offhand.) Although, when they "blew-up" that French mansion in the flick, the local British citizens complained about all of the noise that went on through that particular night of filming!
