I was already familiar with it but I just watched this episode on True Entertainment and I must admit I've always thought the furore around the costume was a bit over the top.
It's certainly nice to look at but it ain't that great. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I prefer some of Mrs Peel's other outfits. I love her Robin Hood outift from Sense of History the best. And also there's some publicity shots with Patrick and Diana on a beach and she's riding a white horse - the outfit she's wearing in those shots is pretty nice.
I realise I'm in the minority of fans of not being such a fan of the leather :) I even prefer the "Emma Peelers" to the catsuit.
I also saw it on True Entertainment and this time it seemed to me to be of a softer material - maybe my dodgy TV? - rather than the leather I remember. It certainly works for me (it's my wallpaper) even though I did not like the boa (but I suppose it's representing sin). I do agree about the Robin Hood outfit, probably even sexier.
