I read in the trivia section "That in keeping with the fantasy element their were to be no colored people on the show !" Not only is this racist, insulting it's also a lie, Episode 16 Season 4 called Small Game for Big Hunters the plot; an African tribe in England lots of lovely " colored people in that episode. I think there are episodes that featured people of color.

sharewhoever wrote that has issues with race themselves. As far as the episodes with "coloured" people go, they concern foriegners and not British black or asian people of whom there were a few around back then. Were they deemed not good enough to be featured in this lilly white bland series? Apparently.
The really sad thing is that, modern 21st century british television hasn't moved on much further in 50 years...Sad indeed.

it seems an anachronistic comment. i don't think there were very many coloured people in english Tv shows in the early 60s. even Coronation Street, which is set in a suburb of manchester, which certainly had a substantial coloured population by the 60s, didn't have any. i mean,why single out the Avengers?

that's true, it's ridiculous really. the only british soap i can remember that had black people in the cast before very recent times is the much mocked Crossroads, which featured a black couple among the regulars i think from the late 70s or thereabouts.
