The Avengers ep by ep; Game

Terrific ep which really put the hook in me, such a clever concept and wonderful performances all around, notably a pre The Sweeney Garfield Morgan and the wonderful Jigsaw expert. Quite sadistic in places, someone should really count up all the times that Steed and co fail utterly to save anyone at all? Once again we have the class contest apparent, the lower class self made villain vs the upper class old money Steed, aping his mannerisms but full of resentment.
Wonderful climax, Steed using a gun which is unusual but to ingeniously free Tara and even the odds. Terrific opening sequence too, full of romance, fantasy and chivalry, you know all you need to know right there, the closing credits are a touch of class too (spent some time trying to do that trick as a kid).
