Ep by ep; All done with mirrors

A very Steed light episode (and we will have numerous Tara light eps). Good premise and great leap year gag. Steed hanging with Mother's bimbos is also a new aspect to his character. Lovely end scene although you think the steak would taste rather greasy?

This is where the Tara Episodes really being in! Her first solo outing is also the most memorable. Gone are the horrible wigs! This is the first episode in which Thorson shows her real hair. Her personality is much stronger here. Not the week damsel in distress inexperienced agent. She seems like the experienced in charge on compared to the dumb make agent they paired her with. She is finally styled in a way that sets her apart from Mrs. Peel. The green denim outfit really suits her and gives her an athletic tomboy edge! She has THE most intense fight scene I think of any Avengers girl. She really goes at it with that big guy. You can really see her intensity and you really feel that she is in danger. Very electric! What a difference from the weaker Tara earlier in the season with the brick on the handbag bit. If anyone wants to show someone a Tara episode for the first time then this it it!

Also Rhonda, mothers assistant, makes her first appearance in the pool scene.

Didn't realise that, thought we saw her first in the Great, Great Britain Crime? Also we have Tara in a mini-moke, a staple of 60s fantasy.

When originally broadcast the Tara episode were shown horribly out of order. The big 50th set and Optimum individual sets have put them in correct production order. However, for some reason they put You'll catch your death before All done with mirrors, and it should be the other way around.

Originally, Rhonda was hired strictly on a non speaking cameo basis as one of Mothers bimbos by the pool. She was never to have been in any other episode, just this one. Apparently, Patrick Macnee and Patrick Newell were so taken with her size, presence and stature, that the recommended she be hired for more episodes. The character of Rhonda was created and comically, she never spoke a single line. But it is here in All Done With Mirrors that she makes her first appearance in her blue bathing suit.

The Great Great Britain Crime was filmed as one of the first original 3 episodes made under John Bryce which were deemed unusable by Brian Clemens. The footage from that episode was recut into Homicide and Old Lace, and new scenes with Mother and Rhonda were filmed. This took place toward the end of the season and in production order, Rhonda had already been in many episodes.
