You must think of a brick wall when......

....buying the 'exclusive' Village of the Damned/Children of the Damned Boxset from HMV at the extortinate price of 24.99!!!

It's the only way you're going to be able to prise open that wallet. ESPECIALLY if you only wanted one of them.

are you in australia? is it available in australia yet? if that's what you meant, then I'm so busting into HMV tomorrow...

reply

United Kingdom of Britain.

Brick wall....you must think of a brick wall.....

Wow, our Region one double disc set is just $12.99 on Amazon.com, and not much more in stores. It is worth every penny just for the first film alone. Honestly, I would pay the higher price just to get the first film on such good quality DVD if that was all that was available to me. If you hate Children Of The Damned that much, then don't watch it. Otherwise, just suck it up and buy it, or else do without. Heck, I've had to pay really high prices for the two Quatermass sequels on DVD, but it was either do it or not have them. If you are a fan of something, you do what you have to do.

I just bought the box set in HMV's sale (UK) for a tenner.

I just bought the box set for $4.88 at a local Walmart here in southern California

Got it safely saved on my Sky+ awaiting a burning onto DVD. :-)

I don't usually do this (not being a pikey skag) but for both films on amazon ÂŁ25.99 is obscene(!)

Got the double feature today at Wal-Mart in Georgia for $4.88 and it is the same widescreen version they are selling everywhere else like Amazon for more money. It was in the grocery section with the Halloween movies.

Well done fella but we don't have Wal-Mart in England. hehe.

Asda Wal-Mart...

No wal mart - the other stores around should be happy,

Here in the US, an average of 2 stores closes for every 1 WalMart that opens. They are putting the little guy out of business.

reply

ha! it was on sale at wal-mart for 4.50 as part of their halloween horror sale. the one time of the year I go to wal-mart!

This price doesn't surprise me. You do live in Rip-Off Britain, after all! The best bet is to buy a multi-regional DVD player and get most of your DVDs cheaper from PlayUSA.

"United Kingdom of Britain" ??

Great Britain is England, Scotland and Wales.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is, you guessed it: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

There is no United Kingdom of Britain. Just saying...

Yes, I know. I like it that way. Makes me look the way I feel.
