Since he had prominent speaking lines, I'm surprised he was not specifically identified.

Yes. I've never seen the remake. Is it as good or better?

I would say the remake is good. Not as good as the original though but that is just my opinion but still very much worth watching.

Just seen the film it has just finished now on TCM. Why did Martin decide to stop acting? he appeared to be very gifted.

Martin Stephens actually did another bang-up job in "The Innocents," an adaptation of Henry James' "The Turn of the Screw." (He played opposite Pamela Franklin, who always seems to get a lot of guff, for some reason. I thought she was just fine.) In any event, you're absolutely right...and it was no fluke, if you see this film also. Superb.
