Why did they have different finger nails?

Same reason they had glowing eyes and mental telepathy and psychokinetic talents: they are alien stock, beamed into their earth mothers' wombs from outer space (MOVIE)

(BOOK) Ditto, except their arrival is associated with a landed saucer photographed from high altitude, and they are the product of xenogenesis by implantation.

I don't ever think it showed their fingernails. They talked about them but I don't think they were ever actually seen unless they did and I forgot which happens a lot for me. I would've liked to have actually looked at them, but oh well. The movie is still excellent regardless.
