Is it time for this movie to have a remake??

I think so. Although there has been a miniseries and a tv movie remake with Jane Seymour. But I'm talking about a big Disney production. A remake without any sexual content either. One much like this one, but more modern and a slighly different storyline. And all the kids should have different names. Fritz, Ernst and Francis are old fashioned names. Plus, mother and father Robinson should also have names, instead of "mother and father."

I read somewhere there is a remake scheduled for 2012 starring Will Smith:

Also that an earlier remake had been attempted, but shelved during production.

A remake would likely be bigger, and have lots of CGI and cartoon-like chases, but it would lack the magic of the original film. Nobody would still be talking about it sixty years from now.
