Helena and Claudia early example of a bachelorette party?

Clever scene, naturally much more upsetting since this wasn't an evening out looking at male strippers but leading to death(s).

In the book, the gladiators fight nude. For the enjoyment of the ladies, of course.

What a nasty pair. As rich Romans they held incredible power over the slaves. They also lived a luxurious lifestyle as far removed from these decent people as one could imagine. Yet they still found it necessary to taunt and humiliate the unfortunate souls.
Almost every line they utter is about offending slaves who can't answer back.
