I like to play the editor on this over-long movie.

I get my scissors and cut out all those grisly, schmaltzy scenes with that grimacing hack in the title role.

And I cut out all those long battle scenes. I cut out those tendentious, schmaltzy scenes referring to US politics and McCarthyism.

And I enjoy the wonderfully thrilling scenes with the greats Olivier and Laughton and Ustinov emoting everywhere!

Less Douglas and Curtis, more Olivier, Laughton, and Ustinov.
