Read the book!
Although the film version of Please Don't Eat the Daisies is enjoyable and entertaining in its own right, it's only loosely based on Jean Kerr's 1957 book. The book is a collection of humorous essays with no plot or continuous storyline, based on the author's real-life experiences with drama-critic husband Walter Kerr and their four sons. Fans of the movie who haven't read the book will find that Ms. Kerr's humor is much more urbane and literate than either the movie or the mediocre 1960s TV sitcom starring Patricia Crowley.
All the universe . . . or nothingness. Which shall it be, Passworthy? Which shall it be?
