Paige once again delivered a standout performance in this film as the self-absorbed actress who is insulted by a bad review she receives from Niven but finds a way to twist it to help her career as well as attempting to initiate an affair with Niven, if memory serves. Paige could play this kind of role in her sleep and steals every scene she's in here as the actress with the Texas sized ego who couldn't always get her way.

Janis Paige was a beautiful, sexy, funny and talented actress who seemed destined to play mostly second-banana roles throughout her film career. I love her in this picture, and also as the Esther Williams-inspired character Peggy Dayton in Silk Stockings and as a seductive neighbor in the Bob Hope vehicle Bachelor in Paradise.

And of course another connection is that Page co-starred with Doris in Day's very first film, "Romance on the High Seas."

Here's another. Paige was the lead on Broadway in The Pajama Game, Day was the lead in the movie of it.
