Elevator scene
Of course there is more than one elevator scene in this movie, but I am talking about the one later in the film. I hope this does not seem too harsh, but if that was a situation in real life, based on the hysteria of Kit Preston there, I would want to slap her, let alone comfort her, as Mr Younger did, in his gentlemanly manner. To be fair, she had already had to deal with the situation in the fog, and two salacious phone calls, so maybe her nerves were a bit edgy. Also, perhaps she had been frightened by the staccato steps, which did seem a bit odd. If you were concerned about an elevator's maintenance, something tells me you wouldn't go about your business, in the manner of a military drill. That being said, an elevator losing its power, for a few minutes while inconvenient, is quite an ordinary thing, even more so, in those days. Not something you have to go to pieces over. Wouldn't common sense dictate, if somebody was trying to get in there, from the outside, particularly after you have called for help, it is most likely someone with a rescue plan?
