Naomi Watts would be perfect for the lead role in a remake

Stunning Naomi is Hollywood's best actress for horror and thriller films. Doris Day was simply superb in the original, but Naomi would be even better in a well-made remake!

I can indeed picture Naomi in the role (I think she's a fine actress), but there's no replacement for Myrna Loy!

Penelope Ann Miller has that deteriorated beauty look.

This was already remade in 1981 with Mary Crosby ( Kristen Shepard who shot JR.on Dallas) it was also relocated to San Francisco, I remember watching this on TV when it came on because I had seen the original a number of time. What I can remember the best was Crosby who was very pretty in it walking around in the fog listening for the voice, she had some great looking long hair.

Another remake but please set it back in London, Wouldnt Clive Owen make a perfect husband?

As far as I'm concerned, the only reason for a remake is that sometimes the original movie comes out on dvd as a result.

I must agree. Naomi would be wonderful. She has a sympathetic vulnerability that would lend well to the character of "Mrs. Preston".
