Lack of Motive

I saw this film with my mom when it first came out. From the very start my mom knew who the "murderer" was going to turn out to be.

As for me, I enjoyed the film tremendously. It had a Hitchcock-y tone to it. It seemed, though, that too many characters were thrown in as suspects. This would have been all right, except that none of them (excluding the real killer)had any motive for wanting to see Kit dead. In a well-plotted mystery, it is essential that all the possible killers have a darn good reason for wanting to knock off the heroine.

But this is a minor detail. The film was fun from beginning to end.

P.S. Loved the Ferrari 250 GT that Rex Harrison drove! Does anybody know where I can find one?

Regards.

When the Scotland Yard man first talks to Kit, he asks her about any old boyfriends or anyone who might want her fortune. So presumably she is very rich--enough that Tony married her just to kill her three months after the wedding, to get her fortune.

Oops--I see the original post said no one but the actual killer had a motive. True--but I guess we're to wonder if either of the other two suspects is a psycho stalker.
