Yul Brynner as Chris Adams

One of the coolest characters in the history of cinema. Anyone agree?

Originality needs a reboot.

reply

McQueen's character so much cooler than Adam's

reply

Brynner and McQueen in this film
Watch how brynner moves and McQueen still manages to upstage him at times
One of brynner's best movies
And eli if course - great villain

reply

I agree with the OP. One of my all-time favorite characters.

reply

An impressive gunfighter totally bald......

reply

Absolutely, with his taciturn stare, black outfit, vague accent, and lighting reflexes definitely my favorite western character a true man of mystery.

reply

I couldn't help but keep thinking that he was a robot, in fact I had to remind myself that he wasn't. :-)

reply

Obviously you saw Westworld first.

reply

Brynner and all the guys except Buchholz were extraordinarily cool. Nobody in movies today comes close. Coolness on that level is a thing of the past.

reply

The character shouldn't have been cool, as he was basically a Samurai transposed to the Old West without any attempt to explain his shaven head or Bhuddist attitudes.

But Yul Brynner MADE the character cool! And somehow, believable.
