The religious people in this movie are funny

They say that the atheists are the ones full of anger and hatred and then they picket, boo people, call anyone with thought Satan, threaten their opponents, call for the hanging of Cates, throw stones through windows, prefer their imaginary friend to their own flesh and blood, etc.

Not all religious people are Fundamentalists. Most intelligent Christians, Jews and Muslims recognize that the Bible is made of many literary forms and not all is meant to be interpretted literally. One example is the age of the Earth; it cannot be just 6000 years old, and all thinking people, including people of Faith understand that.
God said "Let there be light!" What do you think the Big Bang was -- a tremendous convergence of energy resulting in a monumental explosion which gave forth --- LIGHT!!!
Evolution says life began in the sea and the Bible has the first life God created is in the sea as well. I could go on, but you see where I'm going.
The Truth of the Bible is that there is a caring God who loves us and wants us to spend Eternity with Him. The revelation of this message "evolves' as time advances and man's image of God changes as well.
Please don't dismiss all people of Faith as bigots. As Hronbeck proves, the evolutionists can be pretty bigotted as well.

Make a statement to a religious type and you get a full fledged sermon. No wonder thinking people such as Atheists have no patience with believers.

What about the millions suffering and dying through on fault of their own? Some loving God you've got there, or is "he" not in control? or just too weak to do anything about it?

Oh that's right, he just loves the others more than them, right? or the classic cliche "he moves in mysterious ways".

Your God is just a fictional Character!

Infidel, don't forget the convenience of "He gave us free will so we could choose our own fate!". That's an incredibly slippery eel right there.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

IMO the protrayal of religious is people in this movie is one-sided and disingenious. I wish they had shown a wider range of religous views. Otherwise it's a thought provoking, good film.
