bad film. interesting shots of LA

walter, how could you? bad. just bad all over. script was actually ok, but acting, directing, sound and photography just hideous. i'm glad walter M went back to acting after this - some of his best films would come in the next 10 years after this fiasco. Look for Vic Tayback (Mel, from "Alice") as the guard at the country club, but his voice sounds so different - either its dubbed, or his voice is so much higher, it doesn't sound like him.

Some COOL outdoor photography of old time Los Angeles/Buena Park.

I LOVE at an hour in, at the police station, when they are going over the map of where Martin was last spotted, the guy at the right is calmly reading "Law & Order".

I know, right? Wow. At least I found it to be bad enough to elicit some laughs and that's not a quality you find everyday. I'm glad that you mentioned the overdubbing as it seemed to me that, other than Matthau, a BUNCH of the cast members lines were dubbed. More hilarity. Agreed... a lot of the outdoor shots are interesting and most cool to see. What a hoot, though. Man.

I didn't recognize the "LA shots", but it was very nice to see Orange county from a few before I was born. Today Orange county looks so different from when I was growing up. Was the beach scene Corona del mar?

The film was a comedy spoof of gangsterism. Sort of like
Lost Skull of Cadavra.

yeah that kind of sums it up

None of it was shot in LA, pal.

The whole movie was shot in Orange County. Note the Anaheim P.D. patches, the old Fullerton Library (now the Museum Center), Meadow Lark Gold Course in Huntington Beach, Crystal Cove, and the criminals` truck with “Buena Park” painted on the side. All OC locations.

But otherwise, you`re right. The movie is a total turkey.

I find my solace then in bottles,
And I forget them axolotls.
