Cannot find film on DVD

Can anyone tell me where I can buy the movie from. I'm in the UK and need a region 2 edition.

Many thanks!

There are region-free editions sporadically available on E-Bay. However, they aren't official releases, just 'grey market' copies made by industrious individuals. Hopefully, as we now have most of the other decent Hammer movies out on Warner and MGM DVDs, it won't be long before Universal release this. Mind you, they never brought it out on UK VHS either, so why would they? They still find time to do US releases though.

Here's an idea Universal - release this movie on DVD in the country it was made in! Surely there are more people who want to see it over here than there are in the US.

I guess I'm fortunate to live in the U.S. I have the DVD. It's part of an 8-title Hammer film collection and it's fantastic. I don't like the idea of this Region 1, Region 2, Region 3 stuff. People should be able to purchase these DVDs from where ever they live and not have to worry about whether they'll work on their DVD players. There are other DVD titles, however, that have only been released in the UK, such as "Dr. Terror's House of Horrors." I want that one, but can't because it's a Region 2 DVD. There was also a new DVD release of "Phantasm," but that is only available for Region 2 customers, and that film was made in the U.S. The problem goes both ways and I think it's a shame you can't obtain a copy of "Brides of Dracula" because Universal didn't release a Region 2 version. It probably has something to do with who has the rights to release this in the UK or some such nonsense.

Oh man, I'll tell you it frustrates when they just can't be bothered to bring out a film that you know would sell well; Brides of Dracula is about the only classic Hammer left unreleased on UK DVD. I'm also a fan of the Universal horrors, and every single one of them is available on single UK DVDs, except my favourite - Son of Frankenstein (1939).

Hi.
I believe it is avaiable on dvd called the hammer collection dvd
u can try that..

reply

That is only Region One mate. And it gets a slating for being a dodgy transfer on another IMDb Brides of Dracula thread.

Actually, the Region One Brides of Dracula looks fantastic. People with low end DVD players are the ones who are having problems with that collection.

reply

I agree. I was impressed with the quality of all the movies in this package.
