Yvonne Montaur looks like Silvia Tortosa

In "Brides of Dracula", the main actress, Yvonne Montaur looks very much like a twin of the equally-lovely, horror-film actress, Silvia Tortosa. In fact when I watched this movie, I first thought the actress was Tortosa.

You have to love HAMMER FILMS. It was classic, low-budget, British horror; cheesy at times but I loved those 18th and 19th century settings as the story backgrounds. Horror films set in the late 17th century to late 19th century are much more fun and involving to watch. Hammer Films was part of my childhood horror film experience and I never tire of watching reruns or on DVD. Younger generations will be perplexed if they were to see a Hammer horror film and compare it to 'hi-tech' horror like Saw and Hostel, which are little more than vulgar snuff films. They don't have the experience of watching early historic, gothic horror films based on myth and legend, which is more fun to watch. I suppose I'll be re-watching Hammer Horror films from time to time all through my life.

I agree Hammer horror films are the best! They are cetainly better than the crap that is being put out today in regards to horror movies. I love the gothic atmosphere of Hammer films and never get tired of watching them!

I agree with everything you say - The Hammer horror films that were set in that era were so atmostpheric and gothic, and they had a certain glamour about them that made them unique. I find the eerie atmostphere and that dramatic music much more frightening than horror films of today, that rely on jumps and blood and gore - there's no build up or story..I much prefer to watch my Hammer DVD collection anyday.
