Holy water without branding
I wonder what would have happened if Van Helsing had just poured the holy water into his wound without branding it first.

So is this branding and holy water thing a cure for a vampire bite? Never heard that before. That's a rough way to get rid of becoming a vampire.
If you'll watch the movie The Kiss of the Vampire, the vampires actually can travel and walk around in the daytime as long as it's a cloudy day...That's a new one also! But if the sun tries to peek out they head for the castle quick! Seems like each Hammer film has these new ideas added to them, I like them, it adds to the films creative edge I think. I mean who says it's written in stone that they have to behave this way or that way?
"Procrastinators Unite!!...tomorrow."
I remember when the 1979 "Dracula" with Frank Langella came out, the newspapers had a big ad for it with some of the rules about vampires and one of them was that they could be out in daylight as long as they remain in deep shadows. For the most part, most monsters do have certain things that define their legends like killing vampires with stakes or doing away with werewolves with silver.

I'm not sure. It would be a lot less painful than the branding, though. I feel sorry for Van Helsing each time I watch the film because that looks like the most painful thing in the world.
