Liz really should have fought doing this.
Yes her performance is great, and she looks absolutely glorious but this is a very humiliating role, probably the only one in her career. The writers seem to have insidiously used every dialogue to shame her, insult her, and just basically humiliate her at every turn. They gave the audience what they wanted, this was at the height of the Fisher scandal. I've tried watching it many times but I just can't get past the attacks on her, how they make her look because it doesn't feel like a character, it feels like a personal attack on Liz.
She truly should have fought this and went ahead with the lawsuit really, even if it meant losing Cleopatra, other opportunities would have come.
