MEAT-ah-ball, Yeaaah dadadada!

Jack Lemmon NAILED every moment of the film. Every single damned moment.

I've heard him be criticized from time to time for being over-the-top, but I don't see it. I think he has CHARACTER, and he gives that character to his performances. I mean, Baxter is a nice, sweet fella, not some cold dude with an exterior of stone. And you knew exactly what he was going through as he went through it, and that's wonderful next to the more reserved performance from MacLaine.

And he's FUNNY! SO very funny, and so very emotionally clear in the more dramatic scenes. And when he had his stiller moments, when he got quiet and looked so wasted or broken or scared, goodness.

Well done. I mean, performance-wise

Yeah, Lemmon was a talented cat and his performance as Baxter is easily one of his most memorable.

What do you think the teacher's gonna look like this year?
