Thought it was so cute how the landlady's dog, Oscar, didn't want to follow her down the steps back to their apartment ("Come on, Oscar!") and Lemon has to give him a little nudge to follow her.

I know, I wonder if Oscar wasn't really the dog's name and that's why it didn't respond at first.
Or maybe she didn't say it the right way (the dog didn't know it was being given a command)
Oscar may not have been the dog's name. "Toto" was originally (really) called Terry. (The dog was a female.) By the end of filming, she wouldn't respond to Terry, so she remained Toto. I also tend to think he (or she) really liked Jack Lemmon!
"No, I don't like to cook, but I have a chicken in the icebox, and you're eating it."
I'm sure they named the dog character "Oscar" for good luck.... and it worked! ;)
