I also couldn't help noticing *spoiler* when they're trying to revive Shirley, Jack takes the water off the boil, mixes in the instant coffee and starts pouring it down her throat--all in about a 30 second span of time. That coffee would have burned her alive.

Yep. I was thinking he should have put some cold water in it or perhaps milk. Not sure how harsh post overdose coffee needs to be. Would sugar help? Of course in Britain it would automatically have been hot sweet tea.
