Is the current DVD still watchable?

I know the current DVD isn't the Roadshow Version, but is it still worth the watch? Are there any plot holes created due to the cut material? I guess what I'm really asking is, is the 162-minute movie still enjoyable? I'd like to hear from those who have seen both versions, or even those who have only seen the current DVD version. What are your thoughts?

The dvd is great but if you see the uncut version you wont watch the cut one again, with the cut one you wont see the death of Emil Sande, killed by Crockett with Bowie's knife , longer scenes with Travis and Dickinson, Sottie death on patrol and lots more, so my friend watch the dvd by all means but keep hoping the road show version will come one day soon on dvd. adios.

I have both on DVD,the uncut one I think is a good bootleg(I bought it on ebay).Im keeping the official one though for the extras.I hope they come out with a special edition which has the longer version so I dont have to be redundant.

Just a note about a goof on the subtitling. The Rio Grande is rendered as 'real ground'.
