Depressing. Making this film, which was nominated for Best Picture, was a very important years-long dream for the Duke--he went into debt for it--and he would be crushed to know of its criminal neglect by the current executives at MGM. I guess they don't happen to be John Wayne fans.

It's sad.
Granted,there will still be the laserdiscs and the 1995 VHS tapes of the original road show version around,but if the print goes it will be very,very,difficult to get a version that is DVD Blu Ray quality. MGM should indeed be ashamed of itself.
