Herschel Daugherty
Everybody knows Alfred Hitchcock and John Carpenter, but was Herschel Daugherty a "Master of Horror"? This guy was largely a director of Westerns, yet when called upon he directed OUTSTANDING, beautifully-crafted, and still-scary episodes of 'Thriller' such as "The Grim Reaper" and "The Weird Tailor". His work for 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents/- - Hour', 'Suspicion', and 'Ghost Story' also includes some unexpected creepy gems. Daugherty had a real gift for Horror and deserves a full-spread article in a retrospective journal like 'Scarlet Street'. Thanks and keep watching 'Thriller', HJ
