The Salon

Considering Audrey has a general tendency to respect the clients and address them by their surnames, I find it silly that her, David, Maria and in the past, Kylie, all seem to treat those "clients" as though they are invisible and start bickering amongst themselves over personal family issues as though they were sat around the breakfast table!! It matters not whether the customers are under a drier or having a cut and blow-dry. They are sat there generally being completely ignored whist the staff just chat amongst themselves!

I mean OK, I don't go to salons but in the past when I have been, I have never experienced this! If this was real life, those clients would feel like intruders! Has anyone else noticed this and found it unrealistic?

Also the clients hardly ever speak even when the staff do speak to them.

The lady going into the salon tonight actually got two lines which was unusual.

I actually saw another client mutter a few words in agreement a week or so back (a SAGA lout). Boy, the Extras must be getting at least double pay there (2 x £50) 

On the topic of surnames, I find it odd that they're not on first name terms with their customers.

Likewise, the formality and sense of hierarchy in the factory.

Does anyone on this board work or get their hair cut in this kind of environment? It seems a bit 1960s to me.

re the factory - lol I know it is so dated. The way they are managed (spoken to and threatened) would make staff retention abysmal.

The other day there were two elderly ladies (appeared to be twins) listening in to a conversation and making a few one word contributions. It was, as it always, so cringy and as such I disliked the characters/extras.

I think this every time they call a client Mrs Whoever. I have never been to a salon where I haven't been called by my fist name, it's very unrealistic.
