I'm only asking because there doesn't seem to be any threads about the stroke storyline. I mean come on people, it's Ken Barlow he's been in it since the beginning.

shareMy only thought on the subject is that Ken was channelling Helen Daniels when he had his stroke.
As I recall, Helen had a droopy mouth for a number of episodes afterwards so it'll be interesting to see if Roach's acting skills can be as 'convincing'.

shareI have to congratulate the writers for not letting this get out in advance. It took me by surprise. Right up to the time Ken collapsed I was expecting him to abandon his holiday because of what Peter had said, not because he was ill.
This is obviously the way they bring Adam and Daniel back.
And I expect Ken to make a full recovery. Corrie wouldn't be the same without him.
I found it too awful to look at his face. I suffered from Bell's Palsy a couple of years ago, when the entire left side of my face just suddenly collapsed and I was left half paralysed on that side for 8 months. It was not something I wanted to be reminded of.
shareProbably because its all predictable. As we know hes not leaving it means he will eventually recover therefore a slow, drawn-out Patrick type storyline. In hospital for a while, he'll have some bad turns with them trying to make it seem like his life might be in danger but we all know that won't be the case. Eventually he'll leave hospital and will spend months trying to recover, his kids will find it difficult for a while but they will stick with him in the end. Before you know it a whole year would have passed by and Ken will be on his feet again, back to normal like it never happened.
