Comedy scenes during a murder trial

seem really inappropriate. And they're not even that funny. Why on earth would Beth risk going to jail by not doing her community service just to see Craig in court, who hates her anyway? And why didn't Mary just ask her to send her a photo of her signature so she could fake it? Why did Beth have to rush back? And why was Mary climbing out of the window of the loo. Why not just leave by the door after the woman had gone?

Yup it was stupid - do we expect anything more? I genuinely thought she was going to get Beth to whatsapp her signature over, but my expectations are high and I operate on a different plain to the writers, as do most of us on this board.

I actually liked the comedy scenes. Corrie always balances comedy and drama (unlike other soaps). It was nice to have something to smile at during tonight's doom and gloom in soap land.

In was in the middle of a murder trial! They expect viewers to care about David and his sense of loss and frustration that the killer may get off and at the same time they're showing Mary precariously climbing out of a portakabin window. It wasn't that funny and it didn't even make sense.

Beth I never minded. But she can't do serious storylines!
