1-9 A Feud is a Feud

In this episode Andy tries to marry a young couple.
Problem is the two families involved have been feuding for over 80 years.

As we learn neither family knows why they are feuding.
Andy also figures out in the 80 years not one person has ever been shot or
injured because of this feud. So he sets up a duel.
Neither Wakefield or Carter want anything to do with it.
This was a great scene.

I think the scene that stole the episode was Andy telling Opie the story of Romeo and Juliet.
This is in my top 10 favorite scenes in this show.
HARK! They said hark a whole lot back then.
Romeo popped up and said "I'm right che're.
The moral of this story was their pa's could have save the expensive of a double funeral
if they would have just let them have a cheap wedding.

Things I noticed
Barney was not in this episode again.
If I remember correctly the Romeo and Juliet story was part of Griffiths stand up.

Barney would have been good in this episode I thought

He would have been great in this episode.
Listening to Andy's story, going up to the Wakefield's and Carter's houses with his gun drawn.
Checking to see if he has his bullet.

reply

I remember that one. It was funny when Andy kept getting called to that house and then keeps failing at trying to get them to resolve their differences.

I think you're thinking of another episode.

I think the one you're thinking is about the married couple who yell and fight with each other but are nice to everybody else.
Andy gets them to be nice to each other then they are mean to everybody else.
Either way that is a funny episode.
