I have noticed that I am really drawn to that look (other examples are Mia Farrow in the 1960s, and Samantha Morton in the movie Code 46). But I also notice a lot of guys seem to have a virulent, negative reaction to it, and insist that long hair is always more attractive.
So who's with me?
The problem is it only works on the smallest portion of women. Seberg looked great with it in this film and it really suited her, but most women don't look like Seberg. Most of the time if a girl even does look good with such a cut, they would probably look better with longer hair. You need a certain style and attitude to fit the haircut in my opinion. Seberg had it for sure.

I'm willing to grant that a lot of women might not be able to pull it off, but for those who do, they definitely do not look even better with longer hair. A couple examples:

I think it can look extremely appealing on the right person. It's a pixie cut, essentially a "boy's" haircut (I don't like genderizing things, but it's germane to this). It's especially effective on very slight, Peter Pan-ish women.
When you look at it objectively, though, a lot of older women get a similar cut, a very short boy's cut, just because of the easy maintenance aspect and on many of them, it's mannish; very, very mannish and hideously unattractive.
Works wonders on the right woman, though. It really does.
This is a well balanced opinion. I have noticed older women getting that short cut, but I don't think it's likely that they just want something low maintenance. I'm not entirely sure, but it may be that by that age their hair just isn't strong and soft enough to look good if it is longer.

Need to have nicely shaped head and fine features for it to look really good. Right texture of hair is important too. All of which I don't have but wish I did. I love the look. I have a face like a frying pan.
