DVD Release date?

Anyone know when/if this will be out on DVD? Considering the fame of the theme song it's surprising that it's taken so long.

reply

From what I heard there are no plans to release this any time soon. Warner Brothers owns the rights to the film and, for whatever reason, Warners is very reluctant to release ANYthing on DVD. It does seem really stupid--as you said the theme song is well known and with Sandra Dee, sadly, dying just a few months ago it would be nice to issue this as a tribute to her. But that doesn't seem to be happening.

This is one I'm looking foward to seeing again - I watched it after it first appeared on VHS in the late '80s - this movie was so hot - amazingly so for its time - that I swear there was steam rising from my TV set!!!

Those of you who think you know everything should politely defer to those of us who actually do!

If a VHS has been available I would certainly like to put my hand on it. Any other details on the tape anyone? Like videostore I can find it or the marketing company or ... ? Thanks

I do not know if anyone has responded to you but you can buy the VHS tape of this movie at Amazon.com. The price is $16.99 for the tape. I have it and love it. I wish they would release it on DVD!!

that's true. Each trash coming out on DVD, but not a classic like "A Summer Place" - Thanks the actors and Jerry Goldsmith / Max Steiners score!!!
