Well, what about it?

It's probably what's remembered most about the film. I heard it didn't do well at the box office. Surprising given its star power. Maybe it was too risqué with its sexuality...well, for back then. No one would even bat an eyelash at its content today.

This was really the last great score from 3-time Oscar winner Max Steiner, although he continued to score films into the mid-1960s - the memorable "Theme From A Summer Place" was a huge hit in both instrumental and vocal versions.

Those of you who think you know everything should politely defer to those of us who actually do!

I agree, Harold Robbins - I think that the beautiful, unforgettable score gave this movie more depth. It truly is one of the most romantic movie themes during that decade!

Not to mention that it was the Number 1 makeout song to put on the record player for slow dancing at parties in the early '60s--LOL!

I am genuinely terrified of the theme from this movie. It may have something to do with Rose Red, but I am terrified of that song.

Why vote for a lesser evil?

I love the theme. It's one of those instrumentals that transport me to seeing the ocean shimmering in the sun. I must go find the DVD online right now!

I've always wanted to be a June Bride...

I thoroughly enjoyed Max Steiner's score for this film. It's a beautiful, haunting theme...much like the incredible "Shadow Of Your Smile" theme from the movie, 'The Sandpiper.' (If you've never heard that soundtrack, try to find a copy. You won't be disappointed!!) Also, according to Billboard Magazine, Percy Faith had a huge megahit with his 60's release of "Theme from 'A Summer Place.'" Music is soooo subjective that sometimes it's not even worth having a discussion!!
