Highly acclaimed as one of the best comedies in Hollywood history, Some Like It Hot has a neat comedic approach that was sure a topic on every gossiper’s agenda in the late ’50s. It’s a funny little movie with an original storyline. Some Like It Hot utilizes it’s beautiful costumes to their full potential, it’s a beautiful film to look at it. The three stars are all very serviceable in their roles. Jack Lemon is the stand out owning the character and never looking back. Marilyn Monroe is deliciously sweet in the centerpiece of the film of beauty and sexuality. This is widely considered to be her career best, its a shame she missed an Oscar nomination for it. Tony Curtis does a fine job as well. My favorite scene is the legendary “I Wanna Be Loved By You” song lives up to the hype, it’s a wonderful scene. My problem with Some Like It Hot is the lack of emotional investment I felt for the story or the characters. I didn’t quite get the smacking wave of brilliance others have lived with Some Like It Hot. It’s still a good movie, but I didn’t think it was a great one.

Well that's why the ice cream shoppe has all kinds of 5 gallon tubs right?

Imho this movie is a triple dipped waffle cone with the scoops wildly
overflowing its edges. Nuts & sprinkles and a big ol' cherry on top too.

And I'm so caught up laughing at the non-stop cleverness in the script, the darn thing's
melting and dripping all over the place. But the sticky napkin mess is
worth it every bit.

To some it ain't so hot, but to me it is indeed the coolest comedy of all time.
Slightly - very slightly - edging out Dr. Strangelove. Photo-finish too.

PS Btw any of a number of Cary Grant comedies for the place bet money. Just to
indicate my p-o-v.

Although most by Buster Keaton, Chaplin, or the Marx brothers are just as good.

Limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief: directly proportional to its awesomeness.

I rate it 10/10 and I own it on DVD. Jack Lemmon gave the best performance in the film. I'm glad some of the movie was filmed where I lived all my life, San Diego.
