Only a 7.3?

How does this Disney masterpiece only get a 7.3 and the mediocre Maleficent get a 7.1? I think this is one of Disney's best movies and would make my top 10 Disney films. What do you guys think?

Yes, It is also my favorite Walt era princess film and I don't get the praise for Cinderella either. Fortunately, most of today's critics recognize Sleeping Beauty for the masterpiece it is:-))

Well I love thrillers, like Hitchcock films, Silence of the Lambs, Seven, Gone Girl, etc.........what about you? I assume you are a fan of The Little Mermaid judging by your name? That's my favorite Disney movie and Ariel is my favorite princess:-))

Cinderella's not my favorite to be honest, I just think it focuses too much on the animals instead of human characters. I just saw the live action one and like it better. What's your opinion on Cinderella? Why did you ask me if I like horror movies lol? Do u like them?

Oh I c- well I'm not a feminist and find their criticisms on Disney's movies annoying as I'm sure you do:-)) I love a variety of movies, from old classics, to Disney to some modern ones, but do tend to favor mystery/ suspense, not really horror though. I find it amusing how feminist complain about Sleeping Beauty when the main characters are 3 female fairies and they do most of the stuff in the movie; Prince Philip wouldn't have killed Maleficent with out them. What other type of movies besides Disney do you like?

Well the only Lion King review that I was able to get to work was his Disney December one that was 6:39 mins. He did say he found it overrated and he wished other Disney films were more loved than this one, but he didn't bash it as much as I thought he would. There must be a longer review of it by Doug Walker? Anyways I watched a ton of his Disney December reviews and I was happy to know he felt the same way about The Hunchback of Notre Dame as I do, he says he loves it and its one of his personal favorites:-))

I love Beauty and the Beast and Tangled as well, I also really like Frozen, Aladdin and Tarzan too:-)) My second favorite Disney movie after The Little Mermaid is the underrated Hunchback of Notre Dame, these along with Sleeping Beauty are my favorites:-)) As for The Lion King, I don't hate it, but definitely find it overrated, I don't get why it's the most popular Disney film, it's even my husband's favorite too. I love the villain Scar, but aside from him I don't care for any of the other characters and find Timon and Pumba annoying and find the whole middle section of the film with them boring. Why do you find The Lion King overrated?

Yes the childish humor and bathroom humor definitely bring the The Lion King down for me. We definitely have similar views on this movie and Cinderella:-)) Just out of curiosity why don't you like Scar? What is your favorite Disney villain? I have two, Frollo and Maleficent.

I will have to check out that review- Ursula is my third favorite villain:-))

I sent a reply to the nostalgia critic link you sent me but it posted in the middle of this tread lol........

Thread I meant lol- let me know if you read it:-))

Ok thanks- I will have to check the villain list out:-)) Did I watch the correct Lion King review, or is there a longer one?

Ok so I watched the villian video, and some like Ursula would be higher than Gaston, and Frollo higher than Lady Tremain and Maleficent would be higher than Churnabog, IMO. So I guess it just comes down to personal peference, Doug Walker had Jafar at #10 and Scar at #9, but made no complaints about Jafar yet he ranked lower than Scar. I personally still enjoy Scar as villain, he is the only character in The Lion King I like except for maybe Rafiki. I'm glad we can agree to disagree on this, what did you think of Doug Walker's villian list aside from Scar?

reply

[deleted]

Yea I would have put Ursula ahead of Gaston and Lady Tremaine but behind Frollo. I also wondered why the Evil Queen wasn't on the list and I like Mother Gothel as well.......

reply

[deleted]

Yes I was surprised nostalgia critic put Lady Tremaine as #3://

Just curious, what is your opinion of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, the animated Disney ones?
