I rewatched Sleeping Beauty for the first time in months & I was entertained the whole way through. I don't understand why this film gets criticized for being boring. It is far from boring. I personally think it is much more entertaining than Cinderella. I don't understand why Cinderella gets the critical praise whereas Sleeping Beauty gets condemned for being boring.
shareCalling a film boring is a lazy excuse for film criticism. I will admit Sleeping Beauty is more slower paced than other Disney animated films in the first half, but things pick up at the climax.
As for Cinderella, it's more conventional, but IMDb users gives it the same 7.3/10 rating as Sleeping Beauty does, and I've seen numerous users over the years complain Cinderella is a weak or bland character or the Fairy Godmother does all the work for Cinderella, which is similar to criticism Beauty gets. I can't say any of those two films gets more praise than the other, but both films have their strengths and weaknesses so why can't we just praise both films rather than praise one film and denigrate the other?

I personally don't think Sleeping Beauty is a slow in the first half as people make it out to be. A lot of people I know in real life like Cinderella better than Sleeping Beauty.
shareI have always loved the "older" disney films, and by that I mean anything not CGI. Liked this one alot as a kid then didn't see it again until about a year ago. I had totally forgot how good it was, the climax is great and the fairies are really funny. Not my favorite disney film but a top 5....maybe, theres so many good ones!
