Can Anyone Tell Me?

This is, by far, my favorite Western of all time and solidly in my top 10 list of favorite movies. According to the credits, it was based on a short story by B. H. McCampbell. I've looked all over and can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the original story? Its probably been out of print for years. Any help is greatly appreciated.

B.H. McCampbell was Howard Hawks' daughter, Barabara Hawks McCampbell. I don't think that the story ever got published.

Correct. The credits actually read, "Based on a story by B.H. McCampbell" -- not a short story, which would imply something published. I believe it was just a story -- an idea or brief treatment -- from which the actual script was developed.
