Uncut Overseas Version?

I'd read in various places that Hammer shot different versions of some scenes with extra gore for different markets (supposedly the goriest were for Japan). I have actually seen a series of stills in one book (I think it may have been one of Alan Frank's big British coffee-table tomes on horror films, back in the mid70s)with more graphic footage of Christopher Lee having his tongue removed before being mummified alive in "The Mummy." Anyone know antyhing more about this or if there are prints available now of some Hammer films with a little extra gore?

Ditto on this. I was just watching the standard cut from Netflix, and having once owned that book you mention (whichever one it was...likewise can't remember which of many) and seen the stills, wondered the same thing. Were you ever able to find anything out?
