Nadherny, Ernst: additional cast - role of Prince Orlow
Recently discovered memoirs of my godfather and uncle Ernst Nadherny (Baron Ernst von Nadherny until the end of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy), reveal that he played the role of "Prinz Orlow" in Siodamk's "Katia, die ungekrönte Kaiserin", which was partially shot at the grandiose Palais Rasumofsky, designed in 1809 by the Flemish architect Montoyer in Neo-Classicist style.
On the movie set, my godfather, Nadherny, introduced me, a rather shy 16 years old, to the leading male actor, Curd Jurgens, a towering man, who - after his big hand met my small hand for a powerful handshake - lit a cigarette and exclaimed solemnly "NO SMOKING", as if he was reading the cue from the sign with the same words posted on one of the tall columns he was facing at close range in the atrium of the palace.
It was befitting that Nadherny played the role of Prince Orlow, since - some 30 years earlier he had also been the leading role in the "Prince Orlow", the operetta by Granichstaetten, performed in Vienna.
Since Nadherny is not listed in the cast of the film "Katia, ...", I have sent in this information to IMDB Update, but to this day it has not been added to the cast listed by IMDB.
