This is a little late response, but I think Lana Turner was gorgeous and looked great in this movie. She may have looked a little older because she was a smoker, and the hairstyles back then were not always flattering, but she still looked great, and she had a very nice figure.

I thought her character was supposed to be a little older. Guess I was wrong.
shareMy guess is her character was meant to be hovering around 30 at the start of the film and was early forties at the end. That would make sense I think. If she were early to mid-20s at the beginning she wouldn't have been told she was getting a late start.
shareWow, I think she looked really beautiful in this movie. I think everyone is right about the hairstyles being aging. The costumes were absolutely fabulous and she looked glamorous in them.
