Funniest Lines !

Sir Henry : "I thought the curse was on the Baskervilles , Is No one Safe From The Hound !"

Like He was Jealous that the hound had found another victim besides him .
I don't know if this line was meant to be funny but it was funny to me .

Hugo: That bitch got away.

The funniest 'line' has to be from the pack of hounds in the opening prologue. Listen to their barking! It's a continuous loop!

If the human actors were endlessly repeating the same lines like that, then the projectionist would be licking the manager's carpet in the morning!

"Oh look - a lovely spider! And it's eating a butterfly!"

Not really a line, but the way Cushing bangs on the tarantula with his walking stick. Always makes me laugh, so exagerated, its a spider! Not an armored armadillo :D

Sean Connery is similarly enthusiastic when killing the tarantula in Dr No a few years later. Except he uses a shoe.

"I don't need to fight to prove I'm right. I don't need to be forgiven."

Something about putting a mask on the hound to make it look more horrific, wtf?

Mine are:
*The conversation over the telescope with the clergy man when he goes 'oooh wonderful wonderful' and smashes the window. haha that whole scene has me in stitches, nice old man.

*Mortimer saying to holmes 'he left the barrymoores 1000 pounds which I thought was a little too generous and he left me 40,000 pounds but i was his best friend. Greedy git.

Sir Henry ''Jumble sale what an earth's that?''

theres loads in here and the bit where sir henry is about to kiss cecile and she slaps him. hahahaha sounds like it stung like mad.

ooooh and the bit where stapleton is introducing himself to sir henry and says he'd be welcome at any time to which sir henry replies in a bored cant be bothered voice 'how very kind.' He sounds like hes saying 'i dont give a *beep* you peasant.' hahahahahahahha

Personally, I loved when Sir Henry was going on and on about his missing boot and the service at the hotel.

Holmes: Identify anything I may find. Strange things are to be found on the moor. [whips around, produces a dagger from his overcoat] LIKE THIS, FOR INSTANCE!!! [flings it squarely into a table, inches from Mortimer's hand].

Caught it on TCM today and got a few genuine laughs from Cushing. I used to think Van Helsing in Horror of Dracula was his greatest role but after seeing this Hammer gem I may have to change my opinion.

hahaha yeah and mortimer looks intrigued and goes 'where did u find that?'
