Lee's One Problem
Certainly proved his range in HOTB. He was at least a foot taller than most actresses. Probably the reason he didn't have a more varied career? Again, he certainly had the talent!

His mother was from some ancient Italian royalty. One of the extras of the dvd included an interview with him. He regreted that his career was not more varied. He wanted more romantic parts but was typecast like your namesake, vprice. Too bad. If you have not done so, perhaps check out his brief performance as Mycroft Holmes in Billy Wilder's The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes. :>)

Lee's handsome in everything!!
especially devil rides out - he looks great with a goatee
Yes in Lee's climactic scene on the moors with Marla Landi I half-expected him to attach teeth to neck. While Cushing is a terrific (and perhaps underrated) Holmes in this movie, and Morell a smashing Watson, Lee seemed out of place and a little uncomfortable. I guess they wanted to include him as his star was very much ascending at the time, certainly within Hammer films, but he perhaps would have been better suited to a cameo appearance as Sir Hugo. He simply wasn't bland enough to play Sir Henry, and I found his star charisma in what is a pretty dull role a little distracting.
