Carolyn does a charming beatnik in this film. Today, they'd call her hot, but in 1959, she was cool, man.

Looks like Uma's Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction borrowed from Carolyn Jones' Shirl here in Hole in the Head, especially in the diner/dance scene.

Phillip, actually prior to this Jones won an Academy Award for playing a beatnik in the film "The Bachelor Party". Yes, Thurman/Tarantino borrowed from Jones and maybe from Anna Karina.

For who would bear the whips and scorns of Hollywood... (;-p)
