I'm watching it after 30 years on youtube, AND LOVING IT. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE OF A FILM IT WAS AND STILL IS.
The reason for watching it again was because of the actress : EMMANUELLE RIVA, whom I saw at The Cannes film festival at the age of 85 and I rememberd her for this film.

NEXT, I'm going to watch: " LAST YEAR AT MARINBAD."

Hiroshima Mon Amour is a very fine film. Very well made with two exceptional lead performances especially Riva. Even before the penultimate scene at the Casablanca bar / club I had thoughts of the film in my mind so there is certainly an element of pastiche about it. It doesn't work for me on all levels but I rank it 9/10. I saw Marienbad a long time ago but it was quite clearly a very negative experience for me as I find I only scored it 2/10.
