I read somewhere that Hilary Duff wants to do a remake of Gidget. I think they shouldn't make any remakes because it does unjustice to the good ol' originals. Examples: 1)Cheaper by the dozen 2) Freaky Friday 3) The Parent Trap. Don't get me wrong, they are good movies but just not the same as the old ones.

I agree...Duff has potential to do a lot of things, but remaking Gidget is not one of them. What makes the film so likeable is the fact that it was set, and created, in 1959. Sandra Dee was too adorable to be replaced by anyone, much less a Disney channel diva. I would rather enjoy the movie as it was.

I agree... Not Hillary Duff. She might have the body type for it...but she doesn't seem completely innocent like Sandra Dee. Hence the "look at me, i'm Sandra Dee" song. :P

Yea I don't think that hilary duff would fit the part, no offense I mean she is good in other roles. But just her personality wouldn't fit it.

I know Hilary Duff is light years away from Sandra Dee but technically, she's the only one now who looks remotely like her(Sandra). But since she couldn't fit the part (rep wise)the best solution would be to find some unknown blonde actress to play Gidget/Sandra Dee.

Since when is Hilary not known for being sweet and innocent. Apparently I missed something, arn't all the other actresses always making fun of her b/c she is so as the say "goody goody" and so maybe I'm just totally out of it but she at least seems to have the best reputation compared to all the other teen actresses.

Hilary Duff is not Sandra Dee and never could be no one can be and any remake would put this movie to shame. Now i personally dont like her because she pretends to be so innocent when shes dating someone like that loser from gc that means she must have a party side that shes hiding.

Hilary Duff is a complete fake. All of those Disney produced boppers get on my nerves. A remake might be fun, but with a unknown I believe would be better. And Hilary Duff does not have the body type, look at her in Cheaper by The Dozen 2, she looks so skinny that it makes her look sick, especially the scene where she is putting the bed in her tent.

I think they should put Hayden Panettiere (Racing stripes,Ice princess etc.) She is so pretty and she has an innocent look to her

o hell no. hilary duff is a total fake and i absolutely hate her. here's why: i honestly dont believe that she can act. also, her singing isnt that great either. yes i agree with some, they should let old movies be old movies! thats like saying, "o lets do a remake of breakfast at tiffanys," or better yet "grease". like my gawd pple. those r classics that r supposed to stay classics. this way u can look at them and exclaim over how things have changed. plz plz dont agree with nihongotokyo. you are totally rong.

I agree with the first post I think Hillary Duff would be perfect for the part. I think she's innocent enough and even if she isn;t who cares? Sanda Dee I heard wasn't as innocent as she seams either. I'm sure the girls who played gidget in the sequels were't all that innocent either. That's why it's called "acting" she would do very well in the role i think.

As far as not being a good movie to remake, Im sure that's what alot of people say about alot of remakes. I perosnally liked most of the remakes they have made in the past just in a different way.

I think it's time they did remake Gidget, just modernise it a little and i think it would be a cool movie.

they shouldn't remake Gidget it was great and if they do they should find someone who isnt Hilary cuz she sux's she's nowhere near the Sandra Dee. She does not have the body type and dosnt have the acting abillity to play a good Gidget and the reason the first Gidget was so good was because Sandra Dee and all the others in it. i wouldnt even want to know what idiot they have play Moon Doggie or Kuhuna. Just drop the idea and leave a great movie as it is!!

Sandra Dee was unique and nobody could do this part as well as her and if anyone tried it would be a complete bomb.Its like trying to replace Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca.Stop wasting your time trying to figure out who could replace her, you just cannot do it.
