Gaelic question

King Brian says "asculf" when he points his staff and opens the fairy mountain. I looked it up for it's meaning (besides the obvious "Open up", but all I can find is Asculf as a proper name. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Hi :-) Irish girl here, hope that I can help:

What Brian says when he points his staff and the mountain opens is the word 'oscail' which is the Irish (Gaelic) word for 'open'. For example 'Oscail an doras' means 'Open the door'.

It is pronounced like 'oscull' so I can't blame you for being confused!
