Those who will/have missed it on FMC on Feb 13 will have a second chance to view it again on Fox MC on Tu. March 13 at 12.30 PM. Why do you like this movie so much? I´ve never seen it. I was only searching FMC´s daily schedule for another movie. http://www.foxmoviechannel.com/scheddaily.asp
Fox seems to like that "13th" to show Blue Denim. It's being re-broadcast April 13th.
I'm glad because when I played back my disc recorded off television there were several parts where I got a grey screen and the picture broke up. I don't know whether it was from Fox, my cable company, or my set up. It usually doesn't happen when I record off TCM, only Fox.
I watched this film recently and was taken by the story because it is a time capsule and yet, it can still be understood by modern viewers from the perspective of the teenagers point of view (such as the characters' feelings of helplessness, shame, confusion and conflicted feelings over their decisions. Don't want to give away the movie by providing any more spoilers, so I won't give specific examples).
It makes me appreciate how times have changed, yet, there are aspects of the film that I am drawn to such as the "innocence" of the people's attitudes and their views on life during the 1950's. Maybe I'm drawn to the simpler time, when people knew their roles and the expectations were more clearly defined than today. I wasn't born then, so my image of the time would be from books and movies, but mostly from my parents, who were teenagers during the time that this movie came out. My parents always look back with nostalgic sentiment, so I'm sure that there was a reason that they and other people refer to the '50's as the "good old days." In any case, I can't exactly pinpoint all the reasons of why I liked this movie, but I thought this was a compelling film and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
Nice to hear from you again babybooboo. Thank you very much for your good and useful feedback. I also wish to thank you for the recent message you posted about Marc Anthony´s and Cleopatra´s image with relation to the CNN ancient coin article in the Liz Taylor and Cleopatra´s message boards. It´s good to know that this movie has substance and in-depth the way you describe it. I don´t have The Fox Movie Channel and I don´t think I can add it to my CableVisionpackage. Hope it is shown some day in some other cable channel or PBS. With more time I´ll get back to you with feedback about the ancient coin. I am falling asleep now. Need to go to bed. Regards. Irma
